How do you remove the Kimbley IT support software from your Mac?
If you are replacing your Mac with a new device or a contractor moving onto a new gig and need to remove the Kimbley IT support software from your Mac, follow these instructions.
Two pieces of support software may be installed on your computer: one that allows us to remotely access your computer for support purposes and another that provides internet content filtering to protect your device from harmful content. Both need to be removed when no longer needed.
To remove the support software, you need to do the following:
Open the program called Terminal on your Mac.
Enter the following command. You can cut and paste it.
cd /usr/local/rmmagent
Hit enter.
Next, enter the following command. You can cut and paste it.
sudo ./uninstall.tool
Press enter.
You will get asked to enter your computer password.
Hit enter.
After following the above instructions, you will successfully remove the support software from your computer.
To remove the internet filtering software, you need to do the following:
Open the program called Terminal on your Mac.
Enter the following command. You can cut and paste it.
sudo sh /Applications/DNSFilter\ Agent.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.sh
Hit enter.
After completing the above instructions, you should have now successfully removed the software from your computer.
