How to block website notifications in Google Chrome.
Website notifications are fantastic. They let you see quick snippets of information you are interested in without having to visit the website - such as having a notification appear when you receive a new email in Gmail, or a calendar appointment becomes due.
However, recently every website and its dog wants you to sign up to receive their notifications. Getting notification overload is a real possibility. However, it is possible to block notifications in Google Chrome, if you know where to look.
How to block website notifications in Google Chrome:
Go to the website.
In the address bar click the padlock icon.
Under the option for notifications change this setting from “Allow” to “Block”.
Click anywhere out side of the settings window to close.
Reload the web page for the new settings to get implemented.
