Share a link to a specific part of a web page in Chrome.
Google Chrome has a hidden feature that lets you create a link you can share with your team that, when clicked, will take the person you shared the link with to a specific part of the web page.
Typically, when you find an interesting article you'd like to share with others, you copy the address from the address bar and paste that into an email, chat message or social post. The only problem is that you can't highlight the area of the linked article that you think others would find interesting.
With this hidden feature in Google Chrome, you can send a link that will take others directly to the section you want them to see, and it also highlights the text! Here is an example!
How to create a link to a specific part of a web page in Chrome.
There are some websites where this feature does not work, but it will work fine for most websites.
With your mouse, highlight some text in the area of the article you want to link to.
After highlighting the text right, click and select "Copy link to highlight".
Now paste that link in your email, chat message or social post.
You can also test the link by opening a new tab in Chrome, pasting it into your address bar and checking the link goes to and highlights the text you selected.
